The following guiding principles will help us measure the appropriateness of our decisions in establishing TGIF as the premier singles social event organization:

• Provide a safe, friendly, nurturing environment where individuals are treated with respect and dignity.
• Ensure high standards for events, locations and members.
• Create a spontaneous climate where singles can share their enthusiasm with others.
• Contribute to our communities, environment and fellow members in a positive way.
• Maintain our uncompromising principles as we grow.

TGIF is Based On the Following Precepts:

• Members shall be unmarried, separated, divorced or widowed, and single parents are always welcome. Married people are not eligible for membership.
  
  
• Members and prospective members shall be of good moral character and must display appropriate courtesies and behaviour to all other members and guests. Anyone not doing so may be required to explain why they should be allowed to remain as a member or prospective member in TGIF.
  
  
• If an ex-spouse of an active member wishes to become a member of TGIF, the active member must give his or her approval. If the member declines, the ex-spouse may not attend TGIF functions.
  
  
• All events are considered to be "Dutch". A person is not obligated or encouraged to pick up another person's tab. Naturally, if a person wishes to buy a drink for another, it is their choice - with no obligation.
  
  
• TGIF is not a dating service or match making club, though many members have happily connected.
  
  
• If a member renews their annual membership within one month of their month for renewal, the annual renewal fee is applicable. If the member does not renew during that one month period, the member will cease to be a member and will have to apply for a new membership at the current new member fee.
  
  
• A prospective member may attend one TGIF event and one Information Evening before joining. When the guest decides to join, an application form is completed and the annual membership fee is paid.
